The Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) has approached the final stage of the LMS-901 "Baikal" project, and it needs to be financially supported. This was announced in his Telegram channel by Senator Sergei Muratov.
According to him, one can talk a lot about the cost of the project, but most of the path is already behind us.
I have seen this plane, it is currently undergoing testing. The most important task is not to stop, we must fly, fly and fly again. But in order to go further, it is necessary to continue funding the project. As you know, the last meters decide in a marathon, because they are the most difficult.
Muratov recalled that Russia is the only country in the world that builds aviation on its own.
And in the future, we cannot do without our own aircraft. And we have everything for our own aircraft, we just need to work. Moreover, our aircraft have export potential in the future, if we do not scold and denigrate everything we have done, which is normal for us.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade noted that the first flight of the LMS-901 "Baikal" with the domestic VK-800 enginewill take place before the end of 2025. The aircraft will replace the Soviet An-2 on regional lines.
