The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) has for the first time conducted a test flight of a Su-57 fighter with the advanced fifth-generation engine "product 177". The machine was lifted into the sky by Honored Test Pilot of Russia Roman Kondratyev.
The UAC noted that the flight proceeded normally in accordance with the terms of the flight mission. In the newest engine, the thrust at afterburner reaches 16,000 kgf.
The fifth-generation aircraft engine "product 177" is an advanced development for tactical aircraft. The latest technologies and materials, innovative design solutions have made it possible to create an engine that has significantly improved technical characteristics compared to power plants of the past generation.
Also, the new engine has reduced fuel consumption in all modes and increased resource indicators, the corporation added.
