PS-90A Confirmed Reliability in the First Flight of a Newly Built Tu-214 Aircraft

Domestic 4th Generation Engine Performed Without Issues

The Tu-214 aircraft, assembled as part of a new production series, successfully completed its first flight, which lasted 1 hour and 10 minutes. The flight proceeded entirely in normal mode, and the installed PS-90A engines once again demonstrated high reliability and stable operation, ensuring the safety of the aircraft at all stages.

PS-90A is the only fourth-generation aircraft engine in Russia designed for mainline civil aviation. Developed and manufactured at the "ODK-Perm Engines" enterprise, it has already proven itself in operation, but the new flight of the Tu-214 became another confirmation of its trouble-free operation in real conditions.

Key features of the engine include a multifunctional electronic automatic control system (ACS) and an intelligent diagnostic system that allows monitoring the condition of the unit at any stage of operation. The PS-90A is capable of operating in extreme climatic conditions: from −47°C to +45°C — and can be operated at airfields up to 3,500 meters above sea level.

In addition, the engine meets modern ICAO environmental standards, which ensures the possibility of performing international flights without restrictions.
