The promising medium-range Russian airliner MC-21-310 is able to compete in global markets. This was stated by the head of state Vladimir Putin at a combined direct line and press conference in Gostiny Dvor.
He drew attention to the fact that the production of own machines in Russia is increasing.
MC-21 is a very good machine, completely competitive in global markets. "Superjet-100" has become a localized machine. We need our own aircraft for regional transportation.
Putin added that Russia also needs modernized aircraft, for example, like the An-124 Ruslan and Il-76.
Everything is needed, this is very important. Such production requires cooperation of a high technological level.
New MC-21 and Superjet airliners are being built in Russia to replace foreign airliners, but both vessels are still undergoing certification. Apparently, carriers will not receive them in 2026.
