In Kaluga, on the territory of the AGR production site, which previously belonged to Volkswagen, a demonstration was held of the process of preparing Tenet car bodies (localized Chery Tiggo) for anti-corrosion protection.
First, the body undergoes cataphoretic priming. For this, it is placed in a special bath with a solution. Then the sealing of the seams begins. The internal seams located in the passenger compartment and engine compartment are carefully insulated manually using special guns, brushes and spatulas.
After that, mastic is applied to the seams under the bottom of the car. This process is fully automated. The final stage is that the body is sent for re-priming, and then to an oven for drying, the cycle ends with painting and applying varnish. Tenet's body corrosion protection is much more effective than that of Chery models manufactured in China, notes automotive journalist Maxim Kadakov.
Currently, the Tenet model range includes three cars: the compact Tenet T4, the Tenet T7 and the larger Tenet T8. Next year, production of the fourth model, the Tenet T9, will start in Kaluga.
