The Uralvagonzavod (UVZ, part of Rostec) concern has presented the two-section tracked carriers of the "Vityaz" family, DT-10PM and DT-30PM, for the development of hard-to-reach territories of the Arctic and Antarctic. The 30-ton payload capacity vehicles were developed and are produced at the "Vityaz" machine-building enterprise of the same name.
The vehicle is capable of operating at temperatures down to -50 degrees Celsius and below, as well as in off-road conditions, overcoming almost any obstacle.
The range of the two-section "Vityaz" on a single refueling is 700 km, they are capable of overcoming a wall up to 1.5 m high and a ditch 4 m wide, moving at a speed of up to 44 km/h on land and up to 6 km/h on water. At the same time, the all-terrain vehicles do not damage the vegetation cover and exert minimal specific pressure on the ground.
Fedor Biganov, a test engineer at Vityaz, noted that three two-section all-terrain vehicles-a 30-ton DT-30PM and two 10-ton DT-10PMs-participated in the Tiksi-Kotelny Island expedition, traveling more than 1,000 km on the ice of the Laptev Sea.
There is no better vehicle for the Arctic yet. It can travel on swampy terrain, on snow-covered terrain, and on the sea. It can withstand waves of up to three points. With the help of the DT, you can even unload barges where there are no other suitable means. The process is simple. The DT needs to be brought to the side and the cargo transferred to it. The all-terrain vehicle will take everything to the shore. This was often done in Yamal.
Uralvagonzavod added that all-terrain vehicles are actively used in the northern regions by the largest oil and gas companies in Russia, as well as by operators carrying out work in extreme climatic conditions.
