The first energy was planned to be produced in April 2025.

The pandemic, other events, hidden or direct sanctions, delays in the delivery of equipment, the need to find alternative solutions have delayed us a little.
Alparslan Bayraktar,  Head of the Turkish Ministry of Energy

Earlier it was reported that construction work on the first unit of the Akkuyu NPP in Turkey has been completed by 95%. Most of the necessary equipment for the station has already arrived in Turkey.

It is expected that the first unit of the Akkuyu NPP in Turkey will start generating electricity in 2026.
