Sanctions and delays in equipment delivery: the launch date of the first reactor of the Akkuyu NPP has been pushed back again

The launch of the first power unit of the Akkuyu NPP is being postponed, according to the head of the Turkish Ministry of Energy, Alparslan Bayraktar.

The pandemic, other events, hidden or direct sanctions, delays in the delivery of equipment, the need to find alternative solutions have delayed us a little.

Earlier it was reported that construction work on the first unit of the Akkuyu NPP in Turkey has been completed by 95%. Most of the necessary equipment for the station has already arrived in Turkey.

It is expected that the first unit of the Akkuyu NPP in Turkey will start generating electricity in 2026.
