The prototype of the 19-seat regional aircraft "Osvey", developed within the framework of the Russian-Belarusian aviation project, is planned to be completed by 2026. According to Alexey Raiko, a deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, the final appearance of the aircraft may differ significantly from the original concept.
Next year, we expect the first prototype. In fact, the technology requires the formation of a number of prototypes that must be tested.
According to him, JSC "558 Aviation Repair Plant" does not guarantee that the industrial design will retain the original design, previously presented in the form of a model or visualization. This is due to technical requirements, testing stages and possible modifications to the design during the design process.
That is, the technologies of interaction with the Russian Federation, with the Russian military-industrial complex are constantly changing, being worked out, in order to obtain a specific product.
Within the framework of a joint cooperation program between Russia and Belarus in the field of aircraft construction, an investment project is being implemented for the development and subsequent serial production of the "Osvey" aircraft. The main objective of the initiative is to localize the production of regional aircraft in Belarus with the involvement of Russian technologies and component base.
