Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev visited the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant (part of the Russian Helicopters holding). He inspected the production of new Mi-171AZ multi-purpose helicopters for offshore operations, the holding's press service reported.
Trutnev also inspected the main workshops of the enterprise. He was told that the plant is implementing a program to modernize equipment. Workers have completed the reconstruction of the engineering building, and a new flight test station will soon be put into operation.
The General Director of the Russian Helicopters holding, Nikolai Kolesov, said that the Ulan-Ude plant is increasing the volume of product deliveries. At the same time, new models of aviation equipment are being developed, he added.
In 2022, the holding received a large order for the supply of 27 Mi-171AZ helicopters. The contract was signed with the energy company Gazprom and the carrier Avrora. Potential buyers abroad were also interested in the rotorcraft.
