Representatives of the management of Rosatom Technology Construction (RTS LLC, part of the Rosatom State Corporation) and the Institute of Nuclear Physics of Kazakhstan signed a memorandum of understanding in Almaty. The document provides for the joint development of a project for the construction of a multi-purpose research reactor and a network of laboratories. This was reported by the Rosatom press service.
The memorandum also enshrines the intention of the parties to expand cooperation in the field of peaceful atom.
The event was attended by the Chairman of the Atomic Energy Agency of Kazakhstan, Almasadam Satkaliev. He recalled the instruction of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to develop nuclear energy.
The construction of a reactor at the Institute of Nuclear Physics and a similar project at the National Nuclear Center is a key step towards the development of advanced technologies and the expansion of scientific and production capabilities.
