AI on the slopes of Arkhyz: cameras will record skiers' falls and call rescuers

Technology from Sber and Rostelecom will reduce response time to incidents on the slopes

Online cameras with an artificial intelligence system will be installed on the ski slopes of the Arkhyz resort in 2026. The technology will allow rescuers to quickly respond to incidents and provide assistance to those injured on the slopes. This was announced by the General Director of the resort, Roman Kiranchuk, at a press conference in the regional center "TASS Kavkaz".

According to Kiranchuk, the project is being implemented jointly with the Sber development center, which specializes in AI technologies. The system will analyze video in real time, recognize skiers' falls, and automatically notify the nearest rescuers. This will reduce response time and increase safety on the slopes.

The director of the resort also noted that artificial intelligence will be able to assess the skiing technique of guests and give them personal recommendations. According to him, this direction is only beginning to develop, but has great potential for training and improving the skills of skiers and snowboarders.

The pilot launch of the project is scheduled for 2026 in partnership with PJSC Rostelecom. After evaluating the effectiveness of the technologies, the resort management will decide on scaling the system to all ski areas. Kiranchuk emphasized that such a solution would be the first of its kind for the North Caucasus.
