РКН ограничил доступ к серверам Amazon — некоторые игры и сервисы уже недоступны

Blocking Amazon servers could paralyze part of the RuNet

Roskomnadzor has decided to block access to Amazon servers. This is evidenced by data from the website for checking restrictions on access to resources on the Internet.

If server blocking continues, many users in Russia will face the unavailability of various services and applications. There are already complaints about the inability to log into Battlefield 6.

The problem affected not only gamers. Adobe, Canva, and Snapchat services are experiencing access interruptions. Difficulties even arise for lovers of the "Duo" owl – those people who study a foreign language in the Duolingo application.

Amazon Web Services manages a global network of data centers that host thousands of websites and applications. As a result of the restrictions imposed, access to these resources from Russia may be disrupted partially or completely.

The reasons for the blocking were not officially announced. Restrictions may have arisen due to the presence on Amazon platforms of content that is considered prohibited in Russia.

On October 20, 2025, Amazon Web Services experienced a serious failure: a problem in DNS management led to the unavailability of sites and applications around the world. Two utilities without synchronization rewrote and deleted DNS records, as a result, sites using Amazon Web Services were unavailable. The manual recovery process took about 15 hours.
