One of the rarest examples of Soviet motorsport, a 1984 VAZ-2105 VFTS rally car, has appeared on a popular German advertising platform. The car, once created by the Vilnius Vehicle Factory (VFTS) under the leadership of the legendary driver Stasys Brundza and engineer Zbignev Kiverta, is today not just a historical artifact, but a fully modernized collectible sports sedan.
Under the hood is an engine from the VAZ-2106, bored to a volume of 2.0 liters and equipped with a turbocharger, which produces 228 horsepower. The car is equipped with a reinforced five-speed manual gearbox and retains classic rear-wheel drive.
Despite its sporting potential, the car has only 100 kilometers on it, and it has never appeared on the track - all work was carried out in preparation for the exhibition and collectible use.
The project was implemented by the well-known tuning studio TBR Racing, specializing in the restoration and modernization of retro cars of Eastern European origin. Together with the VAZ-2105 VFTS, three new sets of wheels are given away, emphasizing the model's readiness to participate in retro rallies or exhibitions at automobile festivals.
The cost of the car is 50,000 euros (approximately 4.5 million rubles), which is comparable to the prices of premium German sports cars of the initial level.
