A LADA Niva Sport in a rich, non-metallic red shade has been spotted at the factory in Togliatti. According to Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of the magazine "Za Rulem," in his Telegram channel, this instance is not just a one-time color experiment but a likely hint at expanding the palette for the "sporty" version of the iconic SUV.
The color is reminiscent of the "Kubok" paint shade (code 171), previously used on the LADA Kalina Sport. This choice may indicate AvtoVAZ's desire to visually emphasize the sporty character of the model while preserving its off-road essence.
Under the hood, the Niva Sport is equipped with a familiar and reliable 1.6-liter gasoline engine with 16 valves and 4 cylinders, developing 122 horsepower. Paired with a five-speed "manual" (MT5) and permanent all-wheel drive, the car accelerates to 100 km/h in 11.8 seconds, and its top speed reaches 162 km/h. The claimed fuel consumption is 9.7 liters per 100 km in a combined cycle.
The appearance of a new color option may become part of an updated marketing approach to promoting the sports version of the Niva, emphasizing its dynamic character and motorsport heritage.
