The press service of AvtoVAZ JSC stated that Lada cars work correctly on gasoline containing ethanol. According to the company, this fuel composition does not cause a noticeable deterioration in power performance or a decrease in the reliability of power units.
AvtoVAZ JSC has experience in using gasoline with up to 10% alcohol content, as this fuel is the standard for certification, while this composition does not have a significant impact on power characteristics and reliability.
At the same time, the company emphasized that the impact of fuel with an ethanol content of more than 10% on the durability and performance of engines requires additional research. Objective assessment will require targeted testing and analytical work.
As a reminder, in November 2025, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law abolishing the excise tax on denatured ethyl alcohol, used in the production of AI-92 gasoline. This measure may contribute to the expansion of the use of ethanol-containing fuel in the Russian market.
