PJSC "Yakovlev" (part of the United Aircraft Corporation of Rostec) has accelerated the flight test program of the import-substituted MC-21 aircraft as much as possible. This was announced by Dmitry Panchugin, Head of the Flight Test and Refinement Complex.
According to him, two aircraft have now been connected to certification tests.
This is MC-21 serial number 0012 and MC-21 0013. Import in an import-substituted form. The flight test program is currently being intensified as much as possible. Both machines are flying.
Panchugin explained that the tests in Irkutsk are of a refinement nature, not certification. Their main goal is to show that the aircraft has been brought to certain characteristics for safe flight operations.
Prior to this, work began on the assembly of the composite wing of the next set of MC-21 aircraft in workshop No. 249 at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant. Engineers are laying the on-board cable network, installing a complex control system, anti-icing and hydraulic systems, as well as an air extraction system.
