The most advanced Russian T-90M "Proryv" tank has changed its role in combat, effectively becoming an assault gun. This was pointed out by military expert Boris Rozhin.
According to him, direct tank-on-tank battles are now extremely rare due to the drone factor.
But even in these conditions, the T-90M is used to support assault operations and firing from closed positions, effectively performing the function of an assault gun.
Rozhin noted that the "Proryv" has ample opportunities for further modernization, taking into account real combat experience. In addition, the tank is clearly superior to foreign competitors.
In those cases when the vehicle came under attack by means of destruction, it often demonstrated higher survivability than the latest modifications of Abrams and Leopard.
Sergey Chemezov, head of the Rostec State Corporation, also statedthe superiority of the T-90M "Proryv" over foreign models in maintainability. In addition, the domestic vehicle, unlike the American one, is equipped with all-round protection against drones and anti-tank missiles.
