Russia presented an updated man-portable air defense system (MANPADS) "Verba" at the international defense exhibition EDEX-2025 in Cairo. Rosoboronexport representative Alexandra Korzukhina spoke about how the mobile air defense system (ADS), already known to many, has been updated.
According to her, the key difference of this complex is the presence of the latest three-spectral homing head.
It allows hitting targets with a lower level of thermal radiation. Also, "Verba" is better protected from external interference.
Thanks to the 9M336 "Verba" anti-aircraft guided missile (SAM), it is capable of fighting drones "Lyuty" and "Leleka" at an altitude of up to 3.5 km, noted military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
Tactical and technical characteristics of the "Verba" MANPADS:
- Range of action — 500–6400 m
- Altitude of engagement — 10–4500 m
- Maximum target speed (head-on course) — 400 m/s
- Maximum target speed (tail-chase course) — 320 m/s
- Missile caliber — 72 mm
Rostec also noted increased interest in "Verba" from foreign customers.
