Footage of the combat operation of a soldier with the latest portable anti-aircraft missile system (MANPADS) "Verba" against an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of optoelectronic reconnaissance, probably "Leleka-100" or "Valkyrie", appeared online, noted analyst Evgeny Damantsev.
The soldier used a 9M336 anti-aircraft guided missile (SAM), noted Damantsev. The ammunition with a three-spectral ultraviolet-infrared homing head (GOS) successfully intercepted the enemy's UAV at an altitude of 850-1300 m.
Calculations of a full-fledged battery of inexpensive MANPADS "Verba" are capable of intercepting "Lyuty" kamikaze drones with similar efficiency at distances up to 3.5 km. Three batteries of complexes receiving target designation from deployed "Garmon" radars at a dominant height can repel an attack by 18 UAVs.
The maximum speed of targets hit by the MANPADS "Verba" is 400 m/s, the radius of action is 6 km, while the altitude of the targets hit is about 3.5 km.
Earlier www1.ru reported that a unique "Sarych-2" reconnaissance drone with its own protection against electronic warfare and an HD camera has entered service with the military.
