A special adapter has been developed in Russia that allows the installation of thermal imaging sights on man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS) "Igla" and "Verba". The footage appeared online.
The product will open up new opportunities for MANPADS, in particular, effective night hunting for "Baba Yaga" hexacopters, including especially gasoline ones.
Such targets contrast perfectly in a thermal imaging sight, and the seeker head of the 9M336 MANPADS missile confidently captures them. "Verba" copes with the task best, but the earlier "Igla" also gives a good result.
Earlier,www1.ru reported thatMiG-31 fighters used hypersonic "Kinzhal" missiles for the second time in three days.
