The Aeroflot Group is ready to conclude contracts for the supply of 90 new domestic MC-21 aircraft, but some conditions still need to be agreed upon. This was announced by the head of the carrier, Sergei Alexandrovsky.
I can confirm once again that we are ready to conclude immediate firm contracts for 90 MC-21 aircraft and have repeatedly confirmed our willingness. A number of conditions still need to be agreed upon. We are waiting for the industry.
Prior to this, Alexandrovsky clarified that it concerns deliveries stretched over time until 2030. In the meantime, the airline has purchased eight Boeing cargo planes from the Volga-Dnepr carrier, which it will use to maintain the airworthiness of its own fleet.
Also, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Savelyev stated that Aeroflot has increased its order for MC-21-310 aircraft manufactured by the Irkutsk Aviation Plant to 200 planes. The delivery times for this number of aircraft are unknown.
