At the end of November, the document was adopted in the first reading. Drivers can work in a taxi not only within their region. Currently, work permits are issued by local authorities, which affects all drivers, including the self-employed. The authors of the bill are confident that eliminating administrative barriers to obtaining permits, regardless of the place of registration, will improve the situation with passenger transportation and balance the labor market.

The Cabinet noted the need to create a mechanism for registering individual entrepreneurs with tax authorities not at their place of residence in order to obtain a permit to work in a taxi. It is necessary to clarify the control mechanisms for the activities of persons who have received permission to work outside their region.
