AvtoVAZ head Maxim Sokolov believes that taxi fares will not increase after the introduction of the law on taxi localization from March 1, 2026. He added that Lada cars remain more affordable in terms of price and maintenance costs compared to analogues from China.
The law provides for deferrals: cars licensed before 2026 can be operated for another five years, and some regions provide for deferrals until 2028-2030.
According to him, it is necessary to wait until the law comes into force and look at the economics of taxi transportation, after which, if necessary, it will be possible to make some decisions.
