Ahead of the Dubai Airshow 2025 in the United Arab Emirates, a model of the Russian fifth-generation Su-57 fighter with the latest AL-51F1 engine with a flat nozzle was shown. The afterburning thrust of the unit reaches 18000 kgf, the maximum is up to 11000 kgf.
The basic AL-41F1 engines for the Su-57have a maximum thrust of 8800 kg, which is 16% less than the American Pratt & Whitney F119-PW-100 with a thrust of 10500 kgf, and an afterburning thrust of up to 15000 kgf, which is 6% less than the Pratt & Whitney F119-PW-100 with an afterburning thrust of 15865 kgf.
Thus,AL-51F1 in non-afterburning mode will provide Su-57M fighters with a sharp increase in supersonic cruising speed to 1.9 - 2.1M. Currently, this figure reaches 1.6 - 1.7M.
It can be assumed thatAL-51F1 will improve the stealth of the Su-57, reduce maintenance needs and operating costs, increase the power of onboard subsystems, flight range and all aspects of flight performance.
Earlierwww1.ru reported thatthe capacity of the manufacturer of Project 22350 combat frigates will increase 15 times.
