The new promising aircraft engine PD-26 has not yet reached the stage of research and development work (R&D). This follows from the statement of the General Director of the Center for Additive Technologies of the United Engine Corporation (UEC, part of the Rostec Group) Alexei Mazalov.
We are waiting for the opening of research and development technological work on the above-mentioned promising PD-26 engine.
It is known that the final tests of the PD-26 will be carried out at a flying laboratory. Currently, Il-76 aircraft are used for this, in which one of the four engines is replaced.
Aviation expert Roman Gusarov also clarified that today there is only a PD-35 technology demonstrator, not a PD-26.
In fact, this is a physical or virtual model used to assess the production or technical feasibility, usefulness, and applicability of a particular technology, process, concept of the final system, or product being developed.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the toilet of a strategic bomber was shown in the photo for the first time.
