The second import-substituted sample of the MC-21 medium-range aircraft made a non-stop flight from Irkutsk to Zhukovsky. This was reported in the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec Group).
At the Flight Test and Development Complex of PJSC "Yakovlev", specialists will prepare the aircraft. Then it will begin certification tests as part of the import substitution program.
The flight time was 6 hours 15 minutes, it took place at an altitude of about 11,000 m with a speed of 800 km/h. The aircraft was piloted by a crew consisting of test pilots Andrei Voropaev and Oleg Mutovin, as well as leading flight test engineers - on-board operators Anton Kuznetsov and Grigory Kudryashov.
The long flight was completed successfully. The aircraft worked perfectly, all systems functioned without failures, fuel consumption was normal, we landed with a reserve.
Soon the aircraft will join the certification testing program along with the MC-21 prototype, partially equipped with new Russian systems and units.
