Russian T-80BV and T-72B3 tanks have begun to be equipped with new heavy mine roller systems TMT-S, developed by specialists from OJSC FNPTs "Stankomash" (Chelyabinsk). The device creates a continuous lane for trawling and is equipped with a built-in EMT electromagnetic attachment, which neutralizes mines with non-contact magnetic fuses.
Thanks to new technologies, crews are able to safely make passages in anti-tank minefields and effectively demine areas, increasing the mobility and combat stability of armored units.
According to the developers, TMT-S significantly increases the effectiveness of engineering support for offensive operations. The new trawl is capable of operating in various climatic conditions and combines mechanical and electromagnetic effects, which makes it a universal tool for engineering units of the Ground Forces.
