The Russian military will receive a new shotgun drone called "Strelets" by the end of 2025. This was reported by the developer company, Orda-Pilot.
Currently, the combat drone is undergoing refinement. The drone is equipped with five barrels and is capable of destroying up to 5 unmanned aerial vehicles in a single flight.
The new modification of "Strelets" is supplemented with machine vision.
The drone identifies and engages targets automatically. The detection of a potential target is continuous and does not depend on the operator's fatigue or attentiveness. Automatic firing minimizes the error of a miss.
Targets are engaged with the common 12-gauge cartridge.
In the latest modification, we replaced the PVC barrels with metal ones. Now the shot occurs in two directions without losing the barrels.
The range of target engagement is from 5 to 15 m. The cruising speed of "Strelets" is 120 km/h, and the flight range is up to 7 km.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that net guns for neutralizing drones were demonstrated by NPO Polet.
