In some expert circles, there is an opinion that the carrier of underwater vehicles "Poseidon", the nuclear submarine "Khabarovsk", may be equipped with a design that reduces noise and vibration on the vessel.
Experts believe that the nuclear cruiser may be equipped with a low-noise water-jet propulsion system. According to some reports, the design of this propulsion system resembles the one used on American Seawolf-class nuclear submarines.
It is assumed that the use of a water-jet propulsion system can significantly reduce the acoustic signature of the submarine, which is critical for its tasks. The introduction of such a solution, according to analysts, is aimed at maintaining the stealth of the strategic carrier of high-tech underwater vehicles.
There is no official confirmation of this information from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, but experts note that the trend towards reducing the noise of the submarine fleet remains a priority for leading maritime powers.
"Khabarovsk" is a Russian special-purpose nuclear submarine, a Project 09851 vessel. The developer is CDB MT "Rubin". It is considered the main standard carrier of the "Poseidon" weapons system.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the "Khabarovsk" nuclear submarine was launched in Severodvinsk: it may become the first carrier of "Poseidon".
