Signalmen of the 35th Combined Arms Army of the Vostok group of troops are using the SNARK-100R tactical satellite communication system with a parabolic antenna gain of 41 dB. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
This communication system has an advantage because it works directly from the satellite. If a communication line is damaged, you can switch to a backup.
SNARK-100R provides the exchange of tactical information between military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces. The complex operates in the range of 10.7 to 14.5 GHz. In addition to data transmission, it can be used to organize audio and video conferences.
