Ryazan Region Authorities Abandon Construction of Small Nuclear Power Plant

It is argued that the construction of a new plant is economically impractical

The small nuclear power plant project in the Ryazan Region will not be implemented. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Fuel and Energy Complex and Housing and Communal Services in the Telegram channel of Governor Pavel Malkov.

The department noted that there are five power plants in the region with a total installed capacity of 3,700 MW, which fully covers the needs of the region.

According to their assessment, the construction of a small nuclear power plant with a capacity of 300 MW will not replace existing sources and will not bring economic benefits.
