New Turbine Tested by Rosatom Specialists at Seversk CHP Plant

During the tests, the correctness of assembly, alignment, and centering of the turbogenerator shaft were checked.

At the Seversk CHP Plant, which is part of Rosatom, tests of a new turbine were successfully conducted. In parallel, specialists from Rusatom Infrastructure Solutions are carrying out a large-scale modernization of the plant.

During the tests of the new domestic turbine using a turning gear, the correctness of assembly was checked, and the alignment and centering of the turbogenerator shaft were ensured.

The new turbine turning gear features an electromechanical drive that provides remote control and monitoring. Thanks to this innovative system, the rotor cooling process is fully automated, eliminating the need for manual intervention by the operator. Seversk CHP Plant became the first in Russia to implement such technology.

Seversk CHP Plant (CHP SHK) is a thermal power plant in the city of Seversk, Tomsk Region, located near the Siberian Chemical Combine. It was commissioned in stages from 1953 to 1961. It produces heat and electricity for the needs of the combine and the closed administrative-territorial entity (ZATO) Seversk.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the reactor vessel for the first power unit of the El Dabaa NPP was delivered to the construction site in Egypt.
