KMZ даст вторую жизнь двигателю «Уралкалия» на базе Д-30 от самолёта Ту-134

The power plant has been modified to run on natural gas

The Kinigsepp Machinery Plant (KMZ), a military-industrial holding company, will overhaul the D-30EU-6 gas turbine engine. The power plant is used at a key power supply facility of PJSC UralKali in the Perm Territory — the URAL-6000 power plant.

Under the terms of the contract, the work will be completed within six months. The engine was delivered to the plant site, disassembled, and defect inspection has begun.

This is very complex equipment, and serious professional training of specialists is required to give it a new life. Our team has good experience — we have already repaired about a dozen of these engines.
Dmitry Bulkin, KMZ Head of Department

The D-30EU-6 gas turbine engine was created on the basis of the D-30 third series aircraft engine. It was used on Tu-134 and Tu-154 aircraft.

The unit's capacity is 6 MW, and it uses natural gas as fuel. Such units are now used for power supply to industrial enterprises, including in the mining and chemical sectors.

Soviet engines can also be used as "fuel" for data centers. These stations are more compact, easier to maintain, and can be deployed ten times faster than traditional ones.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that ODK has accelerated the welding of parts for the PD-8 and PD-14 engines by 10 times.
