The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec Group) has created a working group to develop small aviation in Russia. The decision was made at a meeting of the expert council of the State Duma Committee on Industry and Trade.
UAC reminded that for Russia, small aviation is not just transport. The industry provides communication between regions, delivers goods and people to places where there are no roads, and serves as a starting point for future engineers and pilots.
We believe that the technological infrastructure, engineering competencies, and production facilities of UAC enterprises can be useful to teams developing small aircraft. With the participation of UAC, testing, certification, and the formation of a base of unified technical solutions are possible. Joint work will create a systematic set of actions aimed at developing the industry.
The working group will begin by analyzing the state of the small aviation market. Specialists will assess the volume of the existing fleet, the dynamics of production, and identify the most promising areas - pilot training, agricultural work, passenger transportation, and sports flights.
UAC added that the development of small aviation is closely related to technological independence. To strengthen the base, designers will be able to use solutions created within the framework of import substitution programs for systems and components for "big aviation." This will give the industry its own components and resistance to external restrictions.
