An additional 1.39 billion rubles will be allocated to complete the "Petropavlovsk" ferry, project CNF22. The vessel is being built by order of Rosmorrechflot at the Butoma shipbuilding enterprise.
The official document states that the funding will allow bringing the technical readiness of the facility to almost 96% by 2025.
The contract for the construction of the ferry, with a total cost of 3.1 billion rubles, was concluded between Rosmorrechflot and the "B.E. Butoma Shipbuilding Plant" in August 2019. The vessel's keel-laying ceremony took place on March 18, 2020. Initially, it was assumed that the "Petropavlovsk" would be commissioned by the end of 2021.
The ferry is designed to transport up to 150 passengers, personal and cargo transport, including buses and containers. The length of the vessel is about 120 meters, the width is almost 18 meters, the height of the side to the main deck is 7.5 meters, the draft is 4.5 meters, and the total engine power is 7000 kW.
The ferry will be able to transport 28 trucks with 20-foot containers (truck length up to 11 meters), or 78 cars, or 40 20-foot containers and 20 cars, or 20 40-foot containers and 20 cars.
