New innovative tank car for petroleum products certified by \"RM Rail\"

RM Rail has received a certificate of compliance from the Register of Certification on the Federal Railway Transport for the 15-3209 tank car for the transportation of petroleum products on a wagon bogie with an axle load of 25 tf.

The carrying capacity of this model is 74.5 tons, which is 1.2 tons more than that of its counterparts. The boiler volume is 90 cubic meters, which is 2 cubic meters more than that of its competitors. The tare weight of the car is reduced to 25.5 tons. The running gear uses an innovative 25 tf bogie model 18-9891. The service life of the car is 32 years.

The new tank car has a number of advantages when transporting goods of various densities. For light goods with a density of up to 0.8 t/m³, the increased boiler volume allows for the transportation of an additional 1.4-3.7 t. The maximum density of up to 1.04 t/m³ allows for the transportation of a wide range of light and dark petroleum products that do not require heating. The greatest efficiency is achieved when transporting goods with a density of 0.83 t/m³ (78% of the total volume of petroleum product transportation). This advantage is provided by the increased carrying capacity, which allows for the transportation of an additional 1.2-8.5 t.

In terms of key technical and operational parameters, model 15-3209 became the best in the segment of four-axle tank cars. The combination of carrying capacity and boiler volume is the most optimized value available on the market in Russia and the CIS.
