The United Aircraft Corporation, which is part of the Rostec State Corporation, is developing the Yak-130M combat trainer aircraft as part of development work. The first prototype was built at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant and sent for ground and flight tests.
The modernization will allow equipping the Yak-130M with air-to-air missiles and high-precision air-to-surface aviation weapons with satellite and laser guidance systems. The new aircraft will not only retain all the capabilities for training combat pilots, but will also acquire the qualities of a combat aircraft.
During ground tests, new and modernized systems will be tested on the aircraft to confirm the declared characteristics. Most of the updated equipment was created by the cooperation of Rostec enterprises. Then the board will begin to prepare for its first flight.
The Yak-130M is being created on the basis of the Yak-130, the characteristics of which allow training pilots of fourth and fifth generation fighters. The main goal of the ongoing modernization is to expand the combat capabilities of the aircraft.
Technical characteristics:
- maximum take-off weight - 10 290 kg;
- combat load - up to 2500/3000 kg on nine suspension points;
- two AI-222-25 engines, each of which provides a maximum thrust of 2500 kgf;
- length - 11.49 meters, height - 4.64 meters, wingspan - 9.85 meters;
- maximum speed - 950 km/h;
- practical ceiling - 12,500 meters;
