The United Engine Corporation (UEC, part of Rostec) has presented a new serial industrial engine NK-36ST-25. Experts from the Technosphere Russia publication reported that the power plant was created on the basis of the gas generator of the NK-32 aircraft engine weighing 3650 kg, which is used on Tu-160 "White Swan" strategic bombers.
UEC noted that the unit of the "UEC-Kuznetsov" enterprise already provides reliable gas transportation. The total operating time of the series engines exceeds 1.3 million hours, which indicates its high reliability and technical characteristics.
NK-36ST-25 has a high efficiency of 36.4% and provides gas transportation over distances of about 130 km, and can also operate stably in extreme climatic conditions - from -60°C to +50°C.
The corporation added that in terms of power, efficiency, fuel consumption, service life and environmental friendliness, the K-36ST-32 surpasses all other Russian engines for gas transportation.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the new North Korean Hwasong-11Ma system suspiciously resembles the Iskander-M.
