A number of factors indicate that a significantly modernized version of the Russian fifth-generation Su-57 fighter will be presented in the near future.
The development of the modernized Su-57M1 fighter, as previously reported, is in an active phase. In particular, at the end of 2024, a prototype with a new AL-51F1 engine of the second stage, featuring a flat nozzle, was shown, and as a result of the refinement of the engine exhaust device, it was possible toimprove the aircraft's stealth performance in the infrared range.
In addition to the power plant, the updated fighter will receive an improved radar with an active phased array antenna, onboard systems with AI elements, a new helmet-mounted targeting system, and modern weaponry. It is assumed that the modular design of the original Su-57 will allow for the modernization of previously produced aircraft to the new standard.
The aircraft's readiness for market entry is indirectly confirmed by the revival of export discussions. Indian media reports on Russia's decisionnot to supply RD-93 engines for Pakistani JF-17 fighters. At the same time, India is showing interestin acquiring 40 Russian Su-57 fighters and subsequently licensing the production of another 100 units on its territory.
Earlier,www1.ru reported thata British Major General, following the Germans, accused the Russian satellite group "Luch-5X" and "Olymp-K2" of spying in space.
