The overhaul project for Ulyanovsk's "Barataevka" airfield (JSC "Ulyanovsk Airport") has received a positive conclusion from the Glavgosexpertiza of Russia.
The documentation was prepared by organizations subordinate to Rosaviatsiya — the "Aeroproject" Institute under a contract with FSUE "AGA(A)". The project's approval paves the way for the practical implementation of repair works.
The "Barataevka" airfield is of strategic importance not only for passenger transportation but also for the training of future pilots. At its base, cadets of the civil aviation training institute practice their skills during training flights, which makes the repair of infrastructure particularly important for aviation education and flight safety.
As part of the overhaul, it is planned to renovate the apron with a total area of 77.1 thousand square meters. The start of work is scheduled for November 2025 after the contract is signed with the contractor, and the completion of the project is expected in 2026.
