The Progress MS-33 cargo spacecraft has arrived at the Baikonur Cosmodrome to prepare for launch to the International Space Station (ISS). Roscosmos specialists inspected the spacecraft and checked the mechanisms for deploying solar panels. The launch is scheduled for December 19, 2025, using the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle.
Before being sent to Baikonur, Progress MS-33 underwent a full cycle of factory tests, including autonomous checks of onboard systems, electrical tests, and leak testing in a vacuum chamber. After successful completion of all tests, the spacecraft was sent to the cosmodrome for further launch preparations.
The cargo ship will deliver about 2.5 tons of various cargo to the ISS, including fuel, water, equipment for scientific experiments, and sanitary and hygienic materials. This will ensure the smooth operation of the Russian segment of the station and support the crew.
