КАМАЗ завершает локализацию производства кабин для грузовиков поколения К5

Stamping areas modernized at the Press and Frame Plant

KAMAZ is on the home stretch of the project for full localization of cab production for fifth-generation trucks (K5). After the completion of the modernization, the plant will be able to produce more than 30 thousand vehicles per year, the company's press service reported.

Key areas have been updated at the Press and Frame Plant (PRZ) — stamping, welding, and metal preparation shops. A new welding machine and a robotic complex have been put into operation, ensuring impeccable quality of 17 welded joints of the cab frame.

A modern automatic metal cutting line, converted to software control, has been installed in the preparation shop. It triples productivity and guarantees the absence of surface defects. To increase the safety of the working area, the line is equipped with sensors that completely eliminate injuries.

By the end of the year, it is planned to launch three laser installations for cutting parts and a new longitudinal cutting line, which will double productivity and remove restrictions on the width of blanks.

"The K5 cab localization project is being implemented strictly on schedule. The new equipment will allow us to produce products of the highest quality and ensure a powerful start next year", the company noted.

KAMAZ K5 is a key direction for updating the model range of the auto giant, focused on increasing localization and technological independence of the Russian automotive industry.
