The Russian nuclear triad has reached the highest level of modernization, and the Avangard and Yars complexes have no world analogues. This was stated by Dmitry Stefanovich, a military expert and researcher at the Center for International Security at IMEMO RAS.
According to him, the degree of modernization of the Russian nuclear triad as a whole is very high. The specialist recalled the assessment of the Ministry of Defense that the percentage of modern weapons and equipment in the troops reached 90%.
Despite questions about the counting methodology, the objective reality is that Yars is the most modern intercontinental ballistic missile in the world.
Stefanovich noted that Russia also has the Avangard missile, the only strategic system in the world with a hypersonic gliding winged unit.
In the naval component, the Project 955 Borei submarines and the Bulava missile, after all the difficulties with testing, confirmed the declared characteristics.
