Heavy flamethrower systems TOS-1A "Solntsepyok" now destroy targets at a range of more than 10 km. This was announced by the Uralvagonzavod concern (part of the Rostec Group).
It is known that previous modifications of the "Solntsepyok" hit at a distance of up to 6 km, which forced the calculations to get closer to the line of combat contact. Apparently, experts either modernized thermobaric ammunition or improved the characteristics of the launcher.
For comparison, the newer heavy flamethrower system TOS-2 "Tosochka" allows you to hit targets at a distance of 15 km. This is fundamentally important, since an increase in the powder charge of the missiles leads to a decrease in the warhead.
Apparently, the designers managed to refine both the composition of the warhead and the propellant powder mixtures.
