BaltProekt Company has announced plans to build a plant for the production of marine and industrial engines in the territory of the special economic zone (SEZ "Lotos") in Astrakhan. The plant will specialize in the production of classic diesel units, as well as innovative dual-fuel and gas power units with a capacity of 500 kW to 9 MW, designed for river and sea vessels, including ice-class vessels.
The new plant will significantly reduce the dependence of Russian shipbuilders and ship repair companies on imported equipment. This step is crucial for strengthening the independence of the domestic fleet and increasing the level of competitiveness of our industry in the global market of shipbuilding technologies.
This plant will be the first industrial enterprise in Russia capable of producing power plants that compete with foreign counterparts. It is planned to invest more than 2.5 billion rubles in the project.
The project also includes the opening of a training center where specialists will be trained to work in this field.
Earlierwww1.ru reported that a new plant for the production of turbochargers for engines waslaunched in the Moscow region.
