The installation of the seventh block-frame of the roof covering of the engine room of the power unit with the BREST-OD-300 reactor facility has been completed at the construction site of the Generation IV Pilot Demonstration Power Complex. This was reported in the press service of Rosatom State Corporation.
The total weight of all seven blocks (including the necessary connections and corrugated board) exceeds 500 tons.
The completion of roofing works and the creation of a thermal circuit of the engine room will allow us to continue installing the equipment of the turbine compartment and start installing the turbine unit of the power unit in winter.
Now the project is moving to the next stage - closing the building with wall panels.
The creation of BREST-OD-300 is part of the "Proryv" project of the Rosatom State Corporation, aimed at creating a new technological platform for nuclear energy. The reactor is scheduled to be launched in 2026, and connected to the power grid in the first half of 2027.
