Specialists from "NPK Progress" conducted successful design tests of the unmanned boat (BEC) "Heroes of the Mist" in the Murmansk region. The dual-purpose surface drone can solve logistical tasks.
BEC "Heroes of the Mist" is planned to be used on the Northern Sea Route (NSR). The drone is designed to deliver goods to remote settlements in the region, including ZATO Ostrovnoy (a closed territorial-administrative formation in the Murmansk region).
The surface drone is named in honor of the feat of the patrol ship "Tuman" during the Great Patriotic War. On August 10, 1941, its crew discovered 3 fascist destroyers Z-4 "Richard Beitzen", Z-10 "Hans Lody" and Z-16 "Friedrich Eckoldt" and transmitted a radio message to the leadership of the Northern Fleet. The ship took fire and sank, but 37 of the 52 sailors were rescued.
