Солнечный ветер усилится: магнитосфера Земли «взволнуется» в ближайшие дни

Astronomers note that there will be no major geomagnetic storms in the coming days

The speed of the solar wind will increase in the next two days, but no serious geomagnetic disturbances are expected. This was reported by the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Institute for Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

According to scientists, the solar wind is expected to intensify in the evening of September 21. The magnetosphere will be excited on the night of September 22 and in the first half of the day, after which it will become calm again.

No significant disturbances are expected in the afternoon and on September 23.

The solar wind is a stream of charged particles (mainly electrons and protons) that are constantly ejected from the surface of the Sun into space. These particles move at a very high speed and reach the Earth. When the solar wind becomes stronger than usual, it affects the planet's magnetic field — the magnetosphere.
