The Northern Fleet frigate "Admiral Golovko" struck a cruise missile target heading towards the ship in the Barents Sea. The anti-aircraft missile firings were carried out by the ship's crew as part of planned combat training activities.
During the air defense exercise, the missile and artillery combat unit of the frigate successfully used the "Poliment-Redut" anti-aircraft missile system against an aerial target heading towards the ship
The training on the use of air defense systems also involved calculations of the navigation and electronic warfare units. The speed, accuracy, and coordination of the combat teams of the "Poliment-Redut" anti-aircraft missile system and the combat information center were checked.
The RM-24 cruise missile target, as part of this exercise, was launched by the calculation of the coastal missile system "Bal" from a positional area on the Rybachy Peninsula.
The frigate "Admiral Golovko" is a modern multi-purpose ship, a carrier of high-precision long-range missile weapons, designed to solve tasks in the far sea and ocean zones. The frigate "Admiral Golovko" was accepted into the Navy in 2023.
