The "High-Precision Systems" holding (part of Rostec) has supplied the army with a batch of Pantsir-SMD anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM). A batch of Pantsir-S combat vehicles was also handed over to the state customer. The complexes have passed the necessary tests and were accepted by representatives of the military acceptance.
The ammunition load in the launchers of the latest Pantsir-SMD complex can reach up to 48 mini-missiles. At the same time, the number of missiles in the launcher varies depending on the combination between standard anti-aircraft guided missiles and mini-missiles.
The Pantsir family of complexes show high efficiency in protecting the Russian sky. Their calculations in the process of combat duty have repeatedly detected and destroyed complex air targets.
"Pantsir-SMD" is equipped with a fire control system, which includes a multifunctional electronic-optical and radar systems. The complex is capable of evaluating the effectiveness of firing in automatic mode.
Military expert Evgeny Damantsev noted that the Pantsir-SMDis not inferior to the Western NASAMS-2 and IRIS-T SLM, the deployment of which is many times longer.
